After defeating Atlético Mineiro and claiming their first-ever Copa Libertadores Championship, Botafogo will now compete in the Intercontinental Cup, facing the reigning Concacaf (Confederation of North, Central America, and Caribbean Association Football) champion, Pachuca, from Mexico.

The match will take place at Stadium 974, one of the venues used during the 2022 World Cup, held in Qatar. To reach the Middle East, the team from Rio will not be flying with Qatar Airways, as their neighbors Flamengo and Fluminense did in previous years for the same tournament, according to a report by Aeroin.

Fogão opted to charter two Boeing 767-200ER aircraft from the U.S.-based airline Omni Air International (OAI), known for transporting U.S. troops to conflict zones, particularly in the Middle East.

The OAI 767-200ER is expected to land at Galeão Airport at 10:00 AM on Sunday, December 8, arriving empty from Rhode Island, USA. However, the aircraft will not depart Galeão until December 9 at 1:00 AM, heading to Rabat, the capital of Morocco, for a stopover before continuing to Doha, Qatar.

A second 767-200ER will arrive at Galeão on December 9 at 2:00 PM and will depart at 5:00 AM the following morning (December 10) to transport another part of the delegation to Qatar, also stopping in Morocco. Botafogo’s return flight is scheduled to land at Galeão on December 13 at 2:30 AM.
