Additionally, the leasing agreement with China Aircraft Leasing Company (CALC) ensures SKY access to state-of-the-art aircraft without compromising its financial flexibility, a key strategy in the competitive low-cost airline segment.
Growth Projections with the A321XLR
Looking ahead, SKY plans to receive its first Airbus A321XLR in December 2025, becoming the launch customer for this model in Latin America and the Caribbean. This aircraft, designed to operate long-haul flights with fuel efficiency, will open new connectivity opportunities.
Among the destinations considered for the A321XLR are Miami, Cancun, Mexico City, Punta Cana, Rapa Nui, New York, and Orlando, connecting both from its base in Santiago and from Lima. Additionally, the airline has applied to Peru’s Dirección General de Aviación Civil (DGAC) for new routes to key cities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, reinforcing its focus on the international market.
So far in 2024, SKY Airline has transported more than 5.8 million passengers, consolidating its position as the second-largest airline in Chile and Peru. Its network includes 16 domestic destinations in Chile and 12 in Peru, as well as international routes to Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, and Mexico, among others.
