Aena has awarded the contracts for the construction of its new corporate headquarters, which will be located near Terminal 4 of Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport. The total investment amounts to €7.8 million and includes architectural, engineering, and project management services.
The architecture firm Batlle i Roig Asociados has been selected for project drafting and technical assistance during construction. The contract, valued at €2.65 million, has an estimated execution period of 55 months, divided into two phases: the Project Drafting Phase (ATRP), which will take approximately 27 months, and the Architectural Technical Assistance Phase (ATA) during construction, initially planned for 28 months.
Meanwhile, project management has been awarded to the joint venture (UTE) Viarium Ingeniería S.L. / Intecsa-Inarsa, S.A. for €5.19 million.

A Headquarters in Harmony with the Future Airport City
The new headquarters, which will house Aena’s Central Services, will be built on a two-hectare plot within the future Madrid-Barajas Airport City development. The facility will feature over 31,000 square meters of above-ground space and a 19,300-square-meter parking area with capacity for 775 vehicles.

According to Aena, constructing a dedicated headquarters instead of continuing with leased office space will result in lower financial costs, benefiting both the company and airlines. Additionally, the proximity to Terminal 4 will facilitate connections with other businesses that require close access to airport services.
The architectural design features an elliptical building with curved lines, in harmony with the aesthetics of Terminal 4. It will have a 360-degree orientation and a connecting walkway to the terminal. A central bio-atrium will serve as a gathering space and will include a large indoor garden.

Aena has emphasized that the new headquarters will meet environmental and technological certification standards. These include:
- BREEAM® Excellent, aimed at minimizing environmental impact throughout the building’s lifecycle.
- WELL Platinum, focused on ensuring employee health and well-being.
- WiredScore Office, guaranteeing high-quality communication infrastructure.
The project management services will include technical assistance for construction supervision, quality control, and sustainability and connectivity certifications.
With these contract awards, Aena continues to advance the development of an infrastructure that, according to the company, will reflect its values as a global airport operator and contribute to the growth of the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport City.
