A recent update in the airline’s reservation system confirms that Aerolíneas Argentinas will continue operating flights from Rio de Janeiro (GIG) to Córdoba (COR) and Rosario (ROS) during the low season (April–June). Additionally, the airline will adjust its schedule on routes to Porto Seguro (BPS) and Rio de Janeiro (GIG).
Interest in Brazil as a tourist destination has increased significantly over the past year. According to data from CVC Corp, air ticket sales to Brazil in January 2025 rose 71% compared to the same month in the previous year. Among international travelers, 33% chose Brazil, up from 25% in 2024.
In the first quarter of 2025, ticket issuance for Brazil grew 91% year-over-year. The most in-demand destinations were Rio de Janeiro (39%), Florianópolis (15%), Maceió (11%), Recife (9%), and Salvador (7%).
The increase in Argentine tourism to Brazil is driven by several factors, including the depreciation of the real and the relative stability of the Argentine peso against the dollar, which created a favorable exchange rate. In response, Aerolíneas Argentinas has adjusted its flight schedule to optimize seat availability.
According to Cirium, the airline will increase seat capacity by 13.6% compared to the 2024 low season, though it remains 2.8% below 2019 levels.
