Aerolíneas Argentinas anticipates carrying more than 226,000 passengers between Friday, February 28, and Wednesday, March 5, during the Carnival holiday. According to the airline, Friday, February 28, will be the busiest travel day, with 42,000 passengers, followed by Saturday, March 1, with 40,000 travelers.
Most Popular Destinations
Among domestic routes, the most in-demand destinations include Bariloche, Iguazú, Ushuaia, Mendoza, Córdoba, El Calafate, Salta, Neuquén, and Tucumán. On the international front, Rio de Janeiro emerges as the most sought-after destination.
Passenger Traffic Distribution
The airline reports that domestic flights will account for the highest passenger volume, with 170,000 travelers flying within Argentina. Meanwhile, 38,000 passengers are expected to travel to regional destinations, while the remaining traffic is distributed among routes to the Caribbean, the United States, and Europe.
Aerolíneas Argentinas highlights an 8% increase in regional flights compared to the same period last year, driven mainly by expanded frequencies to Brazil. Additionally, flights to Punta Cana and Cancún have grown by 28%, solidifying their position as two of the airline’s most popular international routes.
“Aerolíneas Argentinas continues to strengthen its presence during peak travel seasons, reaffirming its commitment to connectivity and the company’s economic sustainability,” the airline stated in a press release.
