Air Canada plans to resume flights to Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile in November

Air Canada suspended regular operations to the capitals of Argentina and Chile in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The company had six weekly frequencies on the Boeing 777-300 (ER), with a capacity for 450 passengers.

As in years past, the company planned to continue off-season operations on the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with fewer flights per week, due to demand.

Due to the restrictions imposed by the Canadian and Argentinian governments on the entry of foreigners and their impact on demand, Air Canada will only return to operate between Toronto and Buenos Aires as of November 1, according to the information we were able to obtain through Cirium and that was confirmed by sources close to the company.

The same sources stated that, if the measures were to be relaxed, Air Canada would advance the restart of its flights both to Argentina and to other South American countries where they remain suspended. But the projections are very uncertain.

Regarding frequencies, the company scheduled five flights per week, although this schedule may have modifications. Everything will depend on the situation of the Coronavirus in the region, as well as the limitations on travel imposed by the governments.
