Air Nostrum´s first biofuel flight will transfer the football team Valencia CF
Today Air Nostrum will take a fundamental step towards its environmental sustainability by making its first flight using biofuels (and one of the first regular aviation flights in Spain). But in addition, it will have a special seasoning, since it will transfer the Valencia CF football team after its match with Sevilla this afternoon.
Airline sources indicated that both entities have had a close relationship for a long time, which is why they agreed that they would be the protagonists of the first flight with biofuels, which will be carried out with the CRJ1000 registration EC-MXA that has a special scheme applied for 100 years from Valencia CF and is usually used to transport them.
Refueling in Seville will be carried out by Avikor, Exolum’s platform that supplies a JET A-1 and SAF compound, a fuel which emissions in its complete life cycle represent a reduction of 80%.
«The final mixture has been analyzed in the laboratories of origin and also in those of Exolum, complying with the quality specification required for this fuel with the SAF component certified as sustainable fuel, according to the International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) scheme recognized by the European Union,» stated from the company.
