Air Serbia has received a new Airbus A330-200, marking the fourth aircraft of this model in its fleet. The plane arrived at Belgrade Nikola Tesla International Airport, showcasing a special livery promoting EXPO 2027, which will take place in the Serbian capital.
A New Addition to Air Serbia’s Long-Haul Fleet
The aircraft, registered as YU-ARE, is 10 years old and previously operated by Etihad Airways and Air Belgium. The 262-seat Airbus A330-200 was delivered on February 11, arriving on a ferry flight from Düsseldorf, Germany, where it was repainted in Air Serbia’s colors.
Air Serbia CEO Jiri Marek commented:
“Our new long-haul aircraft is an important addition and will help us continue expanding our destination network. As the national airline, we want to strongly support the EXPO 2027 specialized exhibition, which will take place in Belgrade from May 15 to August 15, 2027. That’s why this aircraft proudly displays the EXPO 2027 logo. We hope passengers enjoy the comfort of YU-ARE and have a pleasant journey to North America and China.”
EXPO 2027 Livery and Aircraft Specifications
The EXPO 2027 livery was applied using 270 stickers, a process that took eight workers five consecutive days to complete. The A330-200 is equipped with Rolls-Royce engines, each providing 71,100 lbf of thrust.
Dušan Borovčanin, General Director of EXPO 2027 Belgrade d.o.o., stated:
“The visual identity of EXPO 2027 on Air Serbia’s new aircraft represents another strong symbol of Serbia’s global connections and Belgrade’s opportunity to showcase itself on the world stage through this specialized exhibition.”
“This aircraft, which will connect Belgrade with key international destinations, also serves as a message about the significance of EXPO 2027 and contributes to its global recognition. We are proud to see such strong support for this event already.”
