All Nippon Airways (ANA) continues its European expansion with the launch of non-stop flights between Tokyo-Haneda and Istanbul, operating three times per week. With this new route, the Japanese airline becomes the only carrier offering direct flights between Japan and Turkey.
This addition follows recent route inaugurations to Milan-Malpensa (December 2024) and Stockholm-Arlanda (January 2025), reinforcing ANA’s presence in Europe.
Inaugural Flight Details
The first flight, NH 219, was operated by a Boeing 787-8 (registration JA813A), departing Tokyo-Haneda at 08:25 (local time) and landing at Istanbul Airport at 15:25 the next day after a 12-hour, 40-minute journey.

ANA’s Star Alliance partner, Turkish Airlines, also operates in this segment with daily Boeing 777-300ER flights. Additionally, Turkish Airlines maintains flights between Istanbul and Narita, offering a total of 17 weekly frequencies between Tokyo and Istanbul.

- Flight NH 219: HND 08:15 → IST 15:55 (Monday, Wednesday, Saturday)
- Flight NH 220: IST 18:19 → HND 11:20+1 (Monday, Wednesday, Saturday)
ANA operates these flights with the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, configured in three classes with a total of 184 seats:
- 32 in Business Class
- 14 in Premium Economy
- 138 in Economy
ANA’s Expanding European Network
With the addition of Istanbul, All Nippon Airways now serves nine European destinations, including:
London-Heathrow, Frankfurt, Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Munich, Brussels, Vienna, Milan-Malpensa, and Stockholm-Arlanda.
This growing network strengthens ANA’s global connectivity and offers passengers more seamless travel options between Japan and Europe.
