In a recent update to its reservation system, it was noted that American Airlines will add a fourth daily frequency between Miami (MIA) and Buenos Aires/Ezeiza (EZE) starting December 18, 2025. This will mark the first time the airline reaches that number of daily flights on the route.
The move responds to the expected increase in demand for the Southern Hemisphere summer season and will remain in effect until February 12, 2026. According to data from Cirium, this will represent a 28.9% increase in seat capacity during that period compared to the previous season.
Meanwhile, the third daily frequency—which had already been added in previous years during peak months—will resume on October 26, 2025, and remain in operation until March 28, 2026.
The operation will be distributed across three types of aircraft: one daily flight with a Boeing 777-300(ER), another with a Boeing 777-200(ER), and two daily flights with Boeing 787-8, raising the weekly seat availability to approximately 13,700.

The expansion by American Airlines coincides with plans by the LATAM Group to resume flights between Buenos Aires and Miami, operated by its Chilean subsidiary. These flights will depart from Santiago de Chile (SCL), taking advantage of fifth freedom rights.
According to figures from the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC), the Miami–Buenos Aires route handled 650,301 passengers in 2024, with a 92% load factor, ranking as the sixth most-traveled international route in the country. However, that figure is still 23.4% below the record levels of 2019, when 849,862 passengers were recorded.
In 2019, there were 41 weekly flights on this route operated by Aerolíneas Argentinas, American Airlines, and LATAM Argentina, which allowed for over one million annual seats. For 2025, the combined capacity of Aerolíneas Argentinas and American Airlines is expected to reach around 850,000 seats, limited by the availability of wide-body aircraft at both airlines.
