The Airline Pilots Association (APLA) issued a legal letter to Fabián Lombardo, president of Aerolíneas Argentinas, alleging irregularities in the company’s management. The document, signed by APLA’s General Secretary, Pablo Biró, highlights concerns about the financial and operational transparency of the state-owned airline.

Among the allegations, APLA points to the failure to present financial statements and reports, as well as a lack of clarity in commercial operations with LATAM and Mirgor, the latter having a cargo transport contract from Tierra del Fuego. The letter also mentions alleged mismanagement of the frequent flyer program, which, according to the union, negatively impacts shareholders and employees.

Despite these accusations, the airline is operating normally, achieving high punctuality rates and a record number of passengers during the high season. According to APLA, this success is due to the “commitment of the workers,” while Lombardo is reportedly on vacation and has not resumed salary negotiations.

Another critical issue is the lack of progress in collective bargaining discussions, which, according to the union, prevents employees from receiving a “fair and equitable” salary. APLA demands that workers' rights be respected and that previously established agreements be fulfilled.

The union stresses the need to address these allegations and ensure transparent and equitable management for all stakeholders involved in the operation of the state-owned airline.
