Argentina’s travel restrictions: passenger entry limit is expanded and changes to a weekly quota scheme

Argentina’s National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC), in compliance with the Administrative Decision 683/2021 that extends passenger entry restrictions until Friday, August 6, will modify the daily quota system to a weekly cap that in fact represents a gradual expansion of the average capacity.

According to the statement, the detail of the quotas is as follows:

5200 from 7/10/2021 to 7/16/2021, representing 742 average daily income
6300 from 7/17/2021 to 7/23/2021, representing 900 average daily income
7000 from 7/24/2021 to 8/6/2021, representing 1000 average daily earnings

The change to a weekly quota responds better to what was happening in practice during the validity of the 600 daily passenger limit: there were days in which there were less than 600 admissions and days in which that cap was exceeded.

The new Administrative Decision maintains the suspension on flights from the United Kingdom, Chile, Brazil, India, and African countries; the conditions of testing and isolation of the arrived passengers do not suffer modifications.

Regarding aircraft operating crew, foreign crew members must move in bubble mode in the country and comply with health protocols; National crew members must move abroad under bubble mode and carry out antigen tests every 15 days or less. The obligation extends to the transfer crew if they did not respect the aforementioned bubble.

Industry sources consulted by Aviacionline indicated that «we did not receive information about this, nor on approved flights. 140 additional initial seats in the daily average is a meager increase.»
