Arkia has officially entered the North American market with the launch of its nonstop route between Tel Aviv (TLV) and New York-JFK (JFK). The service is operated using Iberojet aircraft under an ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) agreement provided by Classic Air. According to Arkia, this partnership offers flexible and efficient ACMI solutions, allowing airlines to expand their global presence.
Inaugural Flight Details
The first flight (IZ 991) carried 320 passengers aboard an Airbus A330-900neo, registered CS-TKH. The aircraft departed Ben Gurion International Airport at 23:59 local time on February 8 and landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport at 05:03 the next day, completing the journey in 12 hours and 5 minutes.
