Avelo Airlines has inaugurated its new nonstop route connecting New Haven, Connecticut, and Jacksonville, Florida, with twice-weekly flights operating on Mondays and Fridays. This expansion enhances connectivity between southern Connecticut and northeastern Florida.
The inaugural flight, XP 473, was operated by a Boeing 737-700 registered as N703VL. It departed from Tweed-New Haven Airport at 8:06 AM (local time) on February 14 and landed at Jacksonville International Airport at 10:39 AM, completing the journey in two hours and 32 minutes.
Avelo Airlines founder and CEO Andrew Levy described the launch of Jacksonville operations as the start of "a new era of convenient and affordable air travel." He emphasized that the route will improve access to New England and New York.
Avelo Airlines also serves several other airports in Florida, including Daytona Beach, Destin/Fort Walton Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Orlando/Lakeland, Orlando International, Sarasota, Tampa, and West Palm Beach.
