Avianca starts selling flights between Córdoba and Bogotá
Avianca will increase 31 weekly frequencies to Argentina.
Avianca has confirmed that, starting June 16, it will launch a new route connecting Ecuador and Bogotá with Córdoba (COR), Argentina. The airline will operate three weekly flights using Airbus A320 aircraft.
The flights will be operated by Avianca Ecuador, linking Guayaquil and Quito with Córdoba, with a layover in Bogotá. The schedules will allow connections through the airline’s network at El Dorado International Airport, offering access to destinations such as Cartagena, Santa Marta, San Andrés, Punta Cana, Aruba, Miami, and Cancún, among others.
- Flight AV 8343 GYE 18:30 - 20:25 BOG / Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
- Flight AV 8343 BOG 22:25 - 06:10 (+1) COR / Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
- Flight AV 8342 COR 07:35 - 11:20 BOG / Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
- Flight AV 8342 BOG 13:00 - 14:40 UIO / Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
This marks Avianca's return to Argentina’s interior, as the airline previously operated flights to Mendoza from Lima before the pandemic.
The airline has experienced sustained growth in Argentina, making it one of the fastest-expanding markets in its network. In recent months, Avianca has increased its operations through its subsidiaries in Ecuador and Costa Rica.
This expansion was made possible by a bilateral agreement modification between Argentina and Ecuador, signed by Javier Milei’s administration. Due to frequency limitations on Argentina-Colombia routes, Avianca has leveraged its Ecuadorian operations, taking advantage of unrestricted flight agreements between Argentina and Ecuador. This allows the airline to increase its offerings with single-aisle aircraft.
"Argentina is a key market for Avianca, and we are fully committed to enhancing connectivity for Argentine travelers. In 2024 alone, we have transported over 460,000 passengers to and from Argentina, reflecting a 20% growth compared to the previous year," said Gabriel Oliva, Chief Operating Officer of Avianca and CEO of Avianca Cargo. "With this new route, passengers from Córdoba will have access to more than 80 destinations through our Bogotá hub," he added.
