Argentina’s Secretary of Transportation, Franco Mogetta, has announced the launch date for Avianca’s new flights connecting Córdoba with Guayaquil, Bogotá, and Quito. The service will operate from June 2 to October 25, with three weekly frequencies.
“More international connectivity for Córdoba. We have authorized Avianca’s new flight schedule. This route—Guayaquil - Córdoba - Bogotá - Quito—will operate from June 2 to October 25, with three weekly frequencies. We continue opening the skies,” Mogetta posted on Twitter.
Avianca’s Expansion in Argentina
This new route is part of Avianca’s broader expansion strategy in Argentina. In late 2023, the airline requested authorization from Colombia’s Civil Aviation Authority to operate flights to Córdoba, Mendoza, and Rosario, in addition to strengthening its presence in Buenos Aires. Last month, Argentina’s National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC) approved these requests.
In anticipation of these new routes, Avianca recently posted job openings in Córdoba, signaling that operations could begin soon.
Avianca already maintains a strong presence in Argentina, operating up to seven daily flights from Buenos Aires to Bogotá, Guayaquil, Medellín, Quito, and San José, Costa Rica. With the addition of this new route, Córdoba becomes the airline’s latest destination, further expanding its network in the country.
