Avion Express Philippines, a subsidiary of Avia Solutions Group, has officially introduced its Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance (ACMI) services in the Philippines. The announcement was made on February 20, 2025, during an event at Nara Hall, Shangri-La The Fort, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
Addressing Rising Air Travel Demand
According to the company, the new ACMI services aim to support the rising demand for air travel in the Philippines, driven by a surge in tourism. Official data shows that in 2024, tourism revenue increased by 26.75% compared to 2019, surpassing P600.01 billion, with visitor arrivals up 9.15% from 2023.
However, this rapid growth has been met with challenges, particularly due to the global supply chain crisis, which has delayed the delivery of over 17,000 new aircraft, limiting airlines' ability to meet demand.
Avion Express has also expanded into Latin America, leasing Airbus A320 aircraft to Flybondi. Additionally, in January, the company completed certification flights for its upcoming Air Operator Certificate (AOC) in Brazil.
