Azul launches direct flights between Belo Horizonte and Bariloche for winter 2025
Azul inaugurated its new BH Airport–Bariloche route on June 25 with Airbus A320 aircraft. During winter 2025, it will operate 32 flights and offer full travel packages through Azul Viagens.
On Wednesday, June 25, Azul Linhas Aéreas launched its new route connecting BH Airport in Belo Horizonte (MG) with Bariloche, located in Argentina’s scenic Patagonian lake region. This marks the first time the two cities are connected by a direct flight, significantly expanding travel options for winter tourism.
The service operates with Airbus A320 aircraft, offering 168 seats. The inaugural flight departed Belo Horizonte at 9:35 a.m. and landed in Bariloche at 2:50 p.m. The return flight is scheduled at 3:50 p.m., arriving in Belo Horizonte at 8:15 p.m.
During the peak winter season (June to August), Azul will operate 32 flights on this route, offering nearly 5,700 seats. After seeing strong results in 2024 with its seasonal Campinas–Bariloche service, Azul is now expanding seat availability and diversifying departure points, which now include Belo Horizonte, Campinas (Viracopos Airport), and Porto Alegre (Salgado Filho Airport).
In addition to the regular flights, Azul’s tour operator, Azul Viagens, is offering complete travel packages, including accommodation and excursions, targeting families, couples, and snow sports enthusiasts, according to reporting by AEROIN.
“With this new operation, we offer a fully organized itinerary through Azul Viagens, providing a complete destination experience that blends sports, gastronomy, natural beauty, and the charm of the city,” said Beatriz Barbi, Azul’s Senior Network Planning Manager. “The shared language and proximity to Brazil are also strong advantages,” she added.
Daniel Miranda, CEO of BH Airport, welcomed the launch: “It’s a pleasure to offer this international connection, especially at a time when travelers are seeking winter destinations. The new route strengthens our ties with Argentina and highlights the tourism potential of Minas Gerais, opening new cultural and economic exchange opportunities.”
