Belém to Strengthen International Connectivity with New GOL Flight to Miami
Starting June 15, 2025, the Brazilian airline will operate a new direct route between Belém and Miami, with two weekly flights, enhancing access to the United States and promoting tourism in the Amazon region.
The city of Belém, in northern Brazil, will enhance its international air connectivity with the launch of a new direct flight to Miami, operated by GOL Linhas Aéreas. This initiative responds to the expected increase in passenger traffic due to the upcoming COP30—the United Nations Climate Change Conference, scheduled for November 2025.
According to O Globo, the new route will begin operations on June 15, 2025, with two weekly flights on Thursdays and Sundays. Tickets will be available for purchase starting this Friday at noon.
This is not GOL’s first international operation from Val-de-Cans/Júlio Cezar Ribeiro International Airport, as the airline already offers regular flights to Paramaribo, Suriname. Additionally, Belém has other international connections operated by TAP Air Portugal (Lisbon), Surinam Airways (Paramaribo), and Azul Linhas Aéreas (Fort Lauderdale), as well as flights to Cayenne, French Guiana.
According to information provided by Aeroin, this new route is expected to positively impact the local economy, boosting sectors such as hospitality, commerce, and services. Moreover, the choice of Miami as a strategic destination enhances connections to North America and the Caribbean, further establishing Belém as a key hub for tourism and business in the Amazon region.
