Boeing Announces Leadership and Board Changes
Additionally, Sabrina Soussan will leave the board after two years. Her position will not be renewed, effectively reducing the size of the board.
On February 19, 2025, Boeing notified the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of changes to its executive team and board of directors.
According to the report, Stephanie F. Pope stepped down as Chief Operating Officer (COO) but will continue serving as Executive Vice President, President, and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
Additionally, Sabrina Soussan and the board agreed that she will not seek re-election at the 2025 Annual Shareholders’ Meeting. Boeing clarified that this decision is not related to any disagreements regarding its policies or operations. As part of this transition, the board approved a reduction in its number of members, which will take effect after the annual meeting.
Soussan joined Boeing’s board in 2023 and is currently Chair and CEO of SUEZ SA, where she has led the company’s efforts in water and waste management, with a focus on sustainability and climate change. Previously, she served as CEO of Dormakaba Holding AG in 2021 and co-CEO of Siemens Mobility from 2017 to 2020, following more than 20 years at Siemens AG in leadership roles across transportation, automation, and energy management.
Stephanie Pope, an Executive Vice President at The Boeing Company, has been President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes since March 2024. In this role, she oversees the design, production, and delivery of commercial aircraft in a global market with over 13,000 planes in operation.
Pope was appointed COO when William Calhoun took office, in what industry sources viewed as a move to position her as the CEO’s successor. Before that, she served as President and CEO of Boeing Global Services, a role in which she was warmly welcomed by Michael O’Leary, CEO of Ryanair, a staunch critic of Stan Deal’s leadership.
