Delta Air Lines expands its Pacific network with the launch of nonstop flights between Los Angeles and Brisbane, scheduled for three operations per week. The capital of Queensland is the airline’s second destination after Sydney.
Flight DL 93 was operated by an Airbus A350 registered as N522DZ with a special livery for the LA 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The aircraft departed Los Angeles International Airport at 11:23 PM local time on December 4 and landed at Brisbane Airport at 7:18 AM on December 6, after 13 hours and 56 minutes.
With this new service, Brisbane now has 31 weekly flights through five airlines: Air Canada (from Vancouver), American Airlines (from Dallas/Fort Worth), United Airlines (from San Francisco), and Qantas (from Los Angeles). Delta offers a dozen connections to cities in the United States and Canada on this route.
Delta’s new flights are supported by the Queensland Aviation Investment Fund, established to increase the number of international visitors spending in the state. Brisbane ranks as the fifth most visited Australian city by international travelers from the United States.

“The weekly direct flights from Los Angeles mean more visitors, more business, and more ways to establish ourselves as a global tourism powerhouse. It’s about growing our strong partnership with the U.S. tourism market as my Government continues to create more tourism offerings to showcase to the world under our 20-Year Tourism Plan,” said Andrew Powell, Minister for Environment and Tourism, Science and Innovation.
“We have invested significantly to make Delta’s LAX terminal the most modern and easy-to-navigate entry airport for Australia-U.S. travelers. We look forward to welcoming our customers to enjoy a friendly and efficient travel experience both on the ground and in the air,” said Jeff Moomaw, Delta Air Lines’ Vice President for Asia Pacific.
