Copa Airlines is preparing for a new milestone in its expansion across Argentina’s interior, as the airline is set to officially announce today its return to Salta and, for the first time, the launch of flights to Tucumán, covering two key cities in the country’s northwest region.
Flights will begin in September, with service to Tucumán on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and to Salta on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, according to an internal communication shared by SirChandler.
With this move, Copa Airlines’ network in Argentina will expand to six cities: Buenos Aires/Ezeiza, Córdoba, Mendoza, Rosario, Salta, and Tucumán.
The current schedule for April includes the following frequencies:
- Panama – Buenos Aires: 35 weekly flights
- Panama – Córdoba: 14 weekly flights
- Panama – Mendoza: 5 weekly flights
- Panama – Rosario: 7 weekly flights

This translates to more than 20,000 available seats between Argentina and Panama, although the majority of passengers use Tocumen International Airport in Panama City as a hub to connect to over 80 destinations served by Copa Airlines across the Americas. For the Argentine market, most of these connections target destinations north of Ecuador, such as Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and the United States.
For the winter holiday season, Copa Airlines plans to further increase frequencies, reaching 38 weekly flights to Buenos Aires, 17 to Córdoba, 6 to Mendoza, and 10 to Rosario—numbers similar to those operated during the summer peak.
