Delta Air Lines is adjusting its operations for Carnival in Brazil, which will take place from February 29 to March 5, 2025. The airline is enhancing its premium offerings and vacation packages to accommodate travelers heading to the country’s vibrant festivities.
Flights to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro
Delta will operate flights to São Paulo (GRU) and Rio de Janeiro (GIG), two of the main cities hosting Carnival celebrations. This will allow travelers to experience a range of cultural attractions and events during the festival.
Flight Adjustments for São Paulo (GRU)
Delta is deploying the Airbus A330-900neo on one of its two daily flights between Atlanta (ATL) and São Paulo, offering 281 seats in the following cabin classes:
- 29 Delta One Suites
- 28 Premium Select
- 56 Delta Comfort+
- 168 Main Cabin
Passengers on these flights will enjoy an upgraded service featuring chef-designed meals, premium beverages, and luxury amenity kits.
"Carnival is a time when Brazil's energy can be felt in every street, every rhythm, and every gathering. I grew up in São Paulo and experienced firsthand how this celebration brings people together—whether at a bloco, in the parades, or over a feijoada with friends and family," said Carlos Palma Jr., a Delta flight attendant.
Delta’s Connectivity with Brazil
Delta operates nonstop flights from Atlanta (ATL) and New York-JFK (JFK) to São Paulo (GRU) and Rio de Janeiro (GIG). Passengers departing from New York-JFK will have access to the new Delta One Lounge, a 39,000-square-foot (3,623 sqm) luxury space at JFK Airport.
