Delta introduces Airbus A330-900neo, adding over 7,800 seats to Portugal routes
Delta Air Lines will increase its capacity to Portugal by 30% for summer 2025, replacing the Boeing 767 with the more efficient Airbus A330-900neo. The airline will operate two daily flights to Lisbon, offering over 7,800 weekly seats and competing directly with TAP Air Portugal
For the summer season of 2025, Delta Air Lines plans to increase its seating capacity by 30% on all routes to Portugal, introducing the Airbus A330-900neo as a replacement for the Boeing 767. The addition of this aircraft will provide an enhanced customer experience and greater fuel efficiency compared to previous-generation models.
The U.S. airline will operate two daily flights to Portugal, covering the New York JFK–Lisbon and Boston–Lisbon routes, where it will compete directly with TAP Air Portugal. With this adjustment, Delta will offer more than 7,800 weekly seats between the U.S. and Portugal, positioning itself as the third-largest air carrier in this market by capacity.
Delta’s Airbus A330-900neo seats 281 passengers, offering:
- 29 Delta One Suites, with direct aisle access and fully flat beds in a 1-2-1 configuration.
- 28 Premium Select seats, arranged in a 2-3-2 layout.
- 56 Delta Comfort+ seats and 168 Main Cabin seats, both in a 2-4-2 configuration.

- Flight DL 124: BOS 23:25 - LIS 10:45+1 (daily).
- Flight DL 125: LIS 12:45 - BOS 15:10 (daily).
Flight schedule between New York (JFK) and Lisbon (LIS):
- Flight DL 272: JFK 19:35 - LIS 08:00+1 (daily).
- Flight DL 273: LIS 10:00 - JFK 13:00 (daily).
This move highlights Delta’s focus on expanding its presence in the transatlantic market with a more modern and efficient fleet.
