More than 100 representatives from 60 companies participated in the first Deutsche Aircraft Supplier Summit, held in Oberpfaffenhofen, with the goal of consolidating the supply chain for the D328eco, the company’s new 40-seat turboprop. According to the company, nearly 100% of key suppliers have already been confirmed, ensuring the program’s progress and future production.
The summit focused on optimizing the supply chain, adopting sustainable technologies, and implementing digital solutions to make the process more efficient. Additionally, updates were provided on the D328eco’s manufacturing progress, including a review of the first prototype, which is in its final preparation phase and will be officially unveiled at the Paris Air Show in June.
Consolidating the Supplier Network
From Deutsche Aircraft, Nico Neumann, co-CEO of the company, emphasized the importance of having a strong supplier network in the current industry landscape.
"In challenging times, suppliers and strategic partners play a fundamental role. The strength and resilience of our supply chain impact our ability to meet commitments and advance sustainable regional aviation," Neumann stated.
The event also strengthened collaboration between the companies involved in the project and recognized the work of key partners, with awards for the most outstanding suppliers. Olaf Lawrenz, COO of Deutsche Aircraft, highlighted that the relationship with suppliers is crucial to ensuring the success of the D328eco.

"It’s not just about securing production, but working together to develop an aircraft that meets the industry’s highest standards and market needs," he said.
Innovation and Sustainability in Production
One of the key aspects of the summit was the implementation of digital tools and data-driven processes to optimize production planning. Patricia Ferrari, Vice President of Supply Chain, pointed out that the industry faces significant pressure on component availability and that anticipation is key.
"Our goal is to have a more agile and transparent supply chain, which will allow us to foresee challenges and respond proactively to market demand," she added.
D328eco Outlook
With an eye on the future of regional aviation, Deutsche Aircraft is committed to a more efficient and sustainable production process. Wolfgang Kuhl, D328eco Program Director, underlined the importance of supplier roles in this effort.
"We are not just building an aircraft; we are shaping the next generation of regional aviation. The dedication and flexibility of our partners will make the difference in delivering an efficient and competitive product," he concluded.
According to Deutsche Aircraft, the D328eco will be 50% more fuel-efficient than other regional jets of its class, with 100% compatibility for SAF-PtL. It will be able to cover 98% of the current turboprop market range and 95% of regional jets.
In its passenger version, it has 40 seats in a 1-2 configuration, with a cabin width of 2.18 meters and a height of 1.90 meters. Its range at full occupancy reaches 655 nautical miles (~1,213 km), but extends to 1,205 nautical miles (~2,231 km) with 75% occupancy.
It also features STOL capability, operating on 800-meter runways with a 70% load factor and a range of 250 nautical miles (463 km). The D328eco is equipped with Pratt & Whitney Canada PW127XT-S engines.

The final assembly line, covering 60,000 m², is located in Leipzig, Germany, and is 100% carbon-neutral. The company expects to produce up to 48 aircraft per year. Deutsche Aircraft also relies on its global aftermarket network, supporting over 150 Dornier 328 aircraft currently in operation.
