Discover Airlines will operate flights between Punta Cana and Munich for the first time
Munich and Punta Cana will be connected during the northern hemisphere winter season of 2025-2026 by Discover Airlines. It will be the second German destination in Punta Cana, after Frankfurt.
Discover Airlines, the leisure airline of the Lufthansa Group, announced that it will connect Munich (MUC) with Punta Cana (PUJ), in the Dominican Republic, starting October 26, 2025.
The route will begin with two weekly flights (Wednesdays and Sundays). During the peak of the northern hemisphere winter season, a third frequency (Mondays) will be added. The flights will be operated with an Airbus A330-300, which has a capacity for 283 passengers, allowing for the offering of over 3,000 seats per month on this connection.
• flight 4Y 4 MUC 12:25 - 17:55 PUJ
• flight 4Y 5 PUJ 19:40 - 09:55 (+1) MUC
With this new connection, Munich becomes the second German destination with direct flights to Punta Cana, alongside the services operated by Discover Airlines and Condor from Frankfurt.
The airline stated that this new route responds to the demand from tour operators seeking to expand connections between Germany and the Caribbean. Currently, Discover Airlines already offers four weekly flights between Frankfurt and Punta Cana.
In addition, Discover Airlines will establish its long-haul base in Munich in March 2025, with two Airbus A330 aircraft designated for operating intercontinental flights. During the northern hemisphere summer, the airline will offer connections from Munich to Windhoek (Namibia), Orlando (United States), and Calgary (Canada). However, during the winter, the route to Calgary will be replaced by the connection to Punta Cana, which will remain operational until Easter 2026.
