Ethiopian Airlines has announced the launch of a new passenger route connecting Addis Ababa and Hanoi, set to commence on July 10, 2025. The airline will operate the service four times a week, further enhancing air connectivity between Africa and Southeast Asia.
The new route, serviced by Boeing 787 aircraft, will link Ethiopian Airlines' hub in Addis Ababa with Vietnam’s capital. Flights will depart Addis Ababa on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 10:30 PM, arriving in Hanoi at 1:10 PM the following day. The return flights from Hanoi will operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, departing at 2:10 PM and arriving in Addis Ababa at 9:35 PM.
According to the airline's statement, the new service will seamlessly connect passengers to Ethiopian Airlines' extensive global network, which includes multiple destinations across Africa, Europe, and the Americas.

Strengthening African-Asian Connectivity
Ethiopian Airlines currently operates an average of 114 weekly flights to Asia, linking Addis Ababa with key cities such as Bangkok, Bangalore, Mumbai, Guangzhou, Dhaka, Delhi, Hong Kong, Seoul, Karachi, Chennai, Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore, Chengdu, Kuala Lumpur, and Tokyo-Narita. This represents a monthly capacity of approximately 120,000 seats.

The Ethiopian carrier leads the African-Asian market in terms of seat capacity, holding a 36.9% share, followed by Egyptair at 10.3% and Uganda Airlines at 3.8%.
With the introduction of the Addis Ababa–Hanoi route, Ethiopian Airlines continues to reinforce its position as a key player in intercontinental air travel, expanding its reach and offering greater connectivity for global passengers.
