Etihad Airways marked a historic milestone on Sunday, February 2, as its iconic Airbus A380 landed at Singapore Changi Airport for the first time. This inaugural flight introduces the world’s largest passenger aircraft to the Abu Dhabi–Singapore route, further enhancing connectivity between the two destinations.
In November 2024, the airline announced 10 new destinations as part of its expansion strategy, aimed at strengthening Abu Dhabi’s global reach.
Luxury and Comfort: A380’s Exclusive Features
The Airbus A380 brings premium travel experiences to the route, featuring:
- The Residence – the only three-room suite on a commercial aircraft.
- The Lobby – an exclusive lounge area for First and Business Class passengers on the upper deck.
Etihad currently operates six A380s, offering travelers unmatched luxury in the skies.
Enhanced Capacity and Growing Demand

The A380 increases capacity on the route by 28%, accommodating 486 passengers across four travel classes:
- The Residence
- Nine First-Class Apartments
- 70 Business Class Studios
- 405 Economy Smart seats
