EuroAtlantic Airways to Operate Another Route for Azul Linhas Aéreas, Now to the U.S.
The aircraft will be operated by the Portuguese airline, including its crew.
EuroAtlantic Airways will soon begin operating another route on behalf of Azul Linhas Aéreas, this time connecting Brazil and the United States.
A recent update in Azul’s reservation system revealed that flights from Belo Horizonte International Airport (CNF) in Confins, Minas Gerais, to Orlando, Florida, will be operated by EuroAtlantic’s Boeing 767-300ER on specific dates.
EuroAtlantic’s Boeing 767 to Replace Azul’s A330
The flights will be conducted by EuroAtlantic’s aircraft and crew, with Boeing 767-300ER jets registered as CS-TSU and CS-TSV handling the route. These aircraft are configured to carry 267 passengers, with 251 in Economy Class and 16 in Business Class.
This represents a capacity reduction of 25 seats compared to Azul’s usual aircraft for the route, the Airbus A330-200, according to our media partner, Aeroin.

The last time a Boeing 767 operated regular flights to Confins was in 2018, when American Airlines flew the model on its Miami route, which was later discontinued following the airline’s retirement of the aircraft.
Expansion of EuroAtlantic’s Operations for Azul
In addition to the Belo Horizonte-Orlando service, EuroAtlantic’s Boeing 767 is also expected to operate:
- Recife (REC) to Porto (OPO), Portugal
- Recife (REC) to Madrid (MAD), Spain
Meanwhile, EuroAtlantic’s Boeing 777-200ER continues to operate one of Azul’s two daily flights between Campinas (VCP) and Lisbon (LIS).
Wet-Leasing Strategy Amid Aircraft Shortages
Azul has turned to wet-leasing (leasing aircraft with crew) due to ongoing aircraft and parts shortages, which have prevented the airline from using its own jets on international routes.
According to sources from the Portuguese carrier, the contract between Azul and EuroAtlantic is expected to last for approximately three more years. This timeframe aligns with the anticipated arrival of seven Airbus A330-900 (A330neo) jets, which Azul ordered from Airbus in 2022.
