The Minister of Defense, Luis Petri, announced this Wednesday the dismissal of Brigadier General Fernando Luis Mengo, who was serving as the Chief of the General Staff of the Argentine Air Force. The decision was made following allegations of harassment and the misuse of military aircraft for personal purposes.

The official statement specifies that Mengo allegedly committed a serious violation of regulations by using public assets of the institution for personal activities. Additionally, reports of harassment and/or abuse against him were disclosed, which the minister described as “extremely serious and unacceptable offenses”
