First Argentine Air Force F-16 ready for assembly
The first Argentine F-16 will be assembled at the VI Air Brigade in Tandil.
The first F-16 of the Argentine Air Force will soon be assembled at the VI Air Brigade in Tandil, following the arrival of the first containers with the necessary equipment and tools.
Less than a month ago, the C-130 Hercules (registration TC-69) landed at El Palomar Air Base, carrying the airframe of the first F-16 fighter jet of the Argentine Air Force (AAF). The Hercules also brought the final components needed to assemble the F-16BM Block 10, known as the "F-16 number 25," which, although not flight-capable, will play a crucial role in the training and education of the technical and operational personnel at the base.
Today, Sunday, January 12, the Ministry of Defense of the Argentine Republic announced via social media the arrival of trucks with the necessary equipment and tools at Tandil Air Base, home of the VI Air Brigade, to begin assembling the first AAF F-16 fighter jet.
The arrival of Danish technicians, who will lead the assembly process, is also expected soon. The first step will be to place the aircraft on its landing gear.
