The Lufthansa Group airlines will resume flights to Tel Aviv on February 1, 2025, following a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, which also included a hostage and prisoner exchange. The group’s carriers operating in Tel Aviv include Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings, and ITA Airways.
Other regional updates include the return of Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines to Tehran on February 14, 2025, and the resumption of flights by Lufthansa, SWISS, and Eurowings to Beirut on February 28, 2025.
The conflict in Gaza began on October 7, 2023, with a Hamas-led attack on Israel that caused 1,200 deaths, primarily civilians. For security reasons, Lufthansa Group airlines had repeatedly postponed operations to Tel Aviv during this period.
