An Amaszonas Embraer E190’s New Life: From Bolivia’s Skies to a Hotel in Brazil
The aircraft was transported by road from the factory to Serra da Mantiqueira.
A Brazilian hotel published a video showcasing the condition of the Embraer 190 aircraft that was placed at its facilities, located in Campos do Jordão, in the interior of São Paulo.
The transport of the commercial aircraft has been widely discussed in recent months, as it was moved by road from Embraer's facilities in Gavião Peixoto (SP) to the municipality located at the top of the Serra da Mantiqueira.
At its destination, the E190 was positioned in an elevated area on the property of Constellation Lodge, which already features aviation at its core, inspired by the iconic Constellation aircraft, reported our partner media Aeroin.
The video briefly shows all the steps, from the positioning of the fuselage to the installation of the wings and both vertical and horizontal stabilizers.
Although the hotel has not publicly specified its plans for the aircraft, preliminary information suggests that the idea is to transform the jet into a tourist and hospitality attraction, with a special suite planned.
The aircraft was flying with Amaszonas Bolivia when it was withdrawn from service after the airline collapsed due to financial difficulties. As a result, the Embraer plane was returned to its owner (lessor), who decided to sell it as scrap.
