The launch of Humming Airways flights connecting Buenos Aires with Tandil and Olavarría continues to be postponed. After the official presentation in late 2024 and the announcement of an inaugural flight on February 19, the service is now expected to begin this month.
According to the company’s CEO, Francisco Simón Errecart, in an interview with El Eco de Tandil, only one final permit is needed to start operations. The Humming Airways website currently lists the first flight as scheduled for Friday, March 7.
Flights will depart from Aeroparque Jorge Newbery on Fridays at 5:00 PM, arriving in Olavarría at 6:00 PM. From there, they will take off for Tandil at 6:20 PM, landing at 6:45 PM. On the return journey, flights will depart from Tandil at 7:00 PM, arriving at Aeroparque at 7:55 PM.
On Wednesdays, flights will leave Aeroparque at 7:00 AM, arriving in Olavarría at 8:00 AM. They will then depart at 8:20 AM to reach Tandil at 8:35 AM. From Tandil, flights will take off at 9:00 AM, landing in Buenos Aires at 9:55 AM.
Tickets are priced at ARS 306,000 per segment, both from Buenos Aires to Tandil and Olavarría (and vice versa). The Olavarría-Tandil segment is not available for purchase.

Unfortunately, these delays bear similarities to past unsuccessful attempts to establish regular regional air services in Argentina, with constant cancellations and reschedulings undermining public confidence in the airline. Unless Humming is relying on pre-arranged contracts with local business owners, the company will face a much steeper challenge if it starts operations under these conditions. Humming currently operates flights to Venado Tuerto and Villa María using a Metro 23 leased from Royal Class.
Meanwhile, as reported by El Eco de Tandil, Defense Minister Luis Petri stated that the runway at "Héroes de Malvinas" Airport, which is shared with the VI Air Brigade of Tandil, is "on the verge of collapse." Plans are in place to invest in repaving its 2,500 meters; however, this will not happen in 2025, meaning current operations will not be affected.
