Iberia has appointed Roberto Daura as its new Commercial Delegate in Chile, aiming to strengthen its presence in the country and consolidate its strategy in Latin America. The airline continues to reinforce its leadership in connectivity between the region and Europe, a strategy led by Marina Colunga, Iberia’s Commercial Director for Latin America and the Caribbean.
Extensive Experience in the Aviation Industry
Daura brings over a decade of experience in the aviation and tourism sectors, having worked at Avianca, Taca, and DHL in revenue optimization and commercial management. For the past four years, he served as Iberia’s Commercial Delegate for Central America and Venezuela.
Following his appointment, Daura emphasized his commitment to the Chilean market, stating that "Chile is a strategic destination for Iberia in its mission to connect Latin America with Europe." He also highlighted the airline’s growth in the country, which has allowed it to exceed pre-pandemic operational capacity and, on certain days, operate two daily flights between Santiago and Madrid.
Increased Capacity on the Santiago-Madrid Route
In 2024, Iberia expanded capacity on the Santiago-Madrid route to 10 weekly frequencies, operated with its Airbus A350 fleet—the airline’s largest and most advanced aircraft, accommodating 348 passengers across Business, Premium Economy, and Economy cabins.
For 2025, Iberia will maintain its strong commitment to Chile, offering approximately 375,000 seats on the route. During Europe’s summer months, the airline will add an extra frequency, increasing to 11 weekly flights between Santiago and Madrid.
