Iberia Mantenimiento Closes 2024 with Strong Growth in Aircraft, Engine, and Component Overhaul
Iberia Mantenimiento ended 2024 on a high note, reporting strong performance across its core business lines. The company overhauled 205 engines, 181 aircraft, and 28,000 components, reflecting steady growth driven by the addition of 12 new clients and nearly 30 new contracts. These results further strengthen its position as a key player in aerospace maintenance in Southern Europe.
Increased Engine Overhauls and Expanded Capabilities
In 2024, Iberia Mantenimiento certified 205 engines, marking a 15% increase compared to 2023. The company now operates at full capacity for servicing and repairing Pratt & Whitney GTF™ engines, while continuing to provide maintenance for legacy models such as the CFM56, V2500, and RB211-535.
The company conducted 181 aircraft overhauls at its Madrid and Barcelona hangars, maintaining similar figures to the previous year. According to Iberia Mantenimiento, these results demonstrate customer trust in its technical expertise and service quality.

Expansion in Component Repairs
Throughout the year, Iberia Mantenimiento performed 28,000 component repairs, in line with 2023 levels. Additionally, the company expanded its service portfolio, adding 40 new component families, bringing the total to 4,400.
Among its latest capabilities, the company now services wheels and brakes for the Airbus A321XLR, which Iberia introduced to its fleet in November 2024.

Client Growth and Workforce Expansion
Iberia Mantenimiento reported that 90% of its new clients in 2024 came from outside the IAG Group, reinforcing its global market presence. To support this growth, the company hired 200 new employees, increasing its workforce to 2,200 staff members.

Training and Sustainability: Strategic Priorities
Workforce Training Milestones
Iberia Mantenimiento’s training center celebrated its 20th anniversary as an EASA 147-certified facility, accredited by Spain’s Aviation Safety Agency (AESA). In 2024, the company provided over 218,000 training hours, reflecting a 45% increase compared to 2023.
Sustainability Initiatives
The company also advanced its sustainability goals, introducing Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) for its engine test benches, reducing over 131 metric tons of CO₂ in partnership with Moeve.
Additionally, through a collaboration with Getting Greener, Iberia Mantenimiento installed solar power systems at its La Muñoza facilities, generating an annual energy savings of 2.63 million kWh. With continued growth, client expansion, and a focus on innovation and sustainability, Iberia Mantenimiento is solidifying its role as a top-tier MRO provider in Europe.
