Iberia Mantenimiento Hosts Pratt & Whitney Executive to Showcase PW1100G-JM Engine Capabilities
Iberia Mantenimiento welcomed Rob Griffiths, Senior Vice President of Commercial Engine Operations at Pratt & Whitney, to its La Muñoza facilities in a visit led by Enrique Robledo, Director of Iberia Mantenimiento, and Eylo González Merino, Director of Engines.
During the meeting, the company showcased its operational capabilities for inspecting and repairing PW1100G-JM engines, part of Pratt & Whitney’s GTF™ engine family.
According to Iberia Mantenimiento, the addition of this engine model to its service portfolio reinforces its position as a leading aircraft maintenance center in Southern Europe. The GTF engine, known for its fuel efficiency, is a key choice for short-haul fleets.
"It is a great opportunity to show Pratt & Whitney’s leadership team firsthand our 220,000-square-meter maintenance facilities, and specifically how we have successfully integrated the GTF engine service line into our Engine Workshop," said Enrique Robledo, Director of Iberia Mantenimiento.
Robledo also highlighted that this collaboration strengthens trust with Pratt & Whitney and enhances Iberia Mantenimiento’s role in servicing these engines in the region. "This milestone not only reflects our commitment to technical excellence but also to innovation and sustainability, which are fundamental pillars of the aviation industry’s future," he added.
Iberia Mantenimiento stated that this new capability aligns with its strategy to expand its presence in the aircraft engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) sector.
