After decades of maintaining its iconic visual identity, Korean Air has introduced a new logo and a refreshed livery. The first aircraft to showcase this design is a Boeing 787-10, registration HL-8515, with images already circulating on social media.
A Significant Change in Korean Air’s Identity
The new logo retains its inspiration from the taegeuk, the traditional Korean symbol that has represented the airline since its founding, but now features a sleeker and more modern design. The typography of "Korean Air" on the fuselage has also been updated, with a cleaner and more contemporary look.
Meanwhile, the livery keeps the signature sky-blue color but introduces changes to the branding layout, particularly on the aircraft’s tail and engines.
Strategy and Expansion
The rebranding comes at a pivotal moment for Korean Air. Following its recent acquisition of Asiana Airlines and the expansion of its fleet with new wide-body aircraft such as the Boeing 787-10 and Airbus A350-900, the airline aims to strengthen its position as one of the most influential carriers in Asia and worldwide.
This transformation will be gradually implemented across the entire fleet, aligning with Korean Air’s strategy of brand renewal and modernization.
