LATAM and Delta expand joint venture to include Argentina, boosting connectivity across the Americas
LATAM Airlines Group and Delta Air Lines have officially expanded their Joint Venture (JV) agreement to include Argentina, marking a significant step forward in their alliance two years after its inception. The move aims to enhance air connectivity between Argentina, the United States, and Canada.
With Argentina’s inclusion, passengers of both airlines now have access to a combined network of over 200 destinations across the three countries. The JV is designed to deliver improved air services and additional benefits for travelers.
Passengers flying to and from Argentina will enjoy greater connection options to Delta’s network in the U.S. and Canada. The agreement also includes reciprocal perks for members of the LATAM Pass and Delta SkyMiles frequent flyer programs. Currently, Delta SkyMiles members can redeem miles on LATAM flights, and similar redemption capabilities for LATAM Pass members on Delta-operated flights are expected to launch soon.

Elite status members of both programs will benefit from mutual privileges, such as access to Delta Sky Club and LATAM Lounge, status recognition, additional baggage allowances, and complimentary preferred seating. The expanded JV also aims to streamline cargo operations between the involved regions.
The airlines confirmed they have secured all required regulatory approvals to implement the inclusion of Argentina in the JV. They have also notified Argentina’s National Commission for the Defense of Competition for further review.
This development deepens the strategic collaboration that began in late 2019, when Delta invested in LATAM, followed by code-share agreements on several routes, including Argentina-Brazil services approved by Argentina’s civil aviation authority (ANAC) in 2022.
