LATAM to Launch Direct Lima–Florianópolis Route in December 2025
Hercílio Luz International Airport (FLN) in Florianópolis, Brazil, will gain a new international connection starting December 2, 2025, with the announcement that the LATAM Group will launch direct flights to Lima (LIM), Peru.
The airline stated that tickets will be available in the coming days through its website and travel agencies. The new service will offer three weekly frequencies and be operated with either Airbus A319 aircraft, which seats 138 passengers, or Airbus A320, configured for 176 passengers. This will provide between 800 and 1,000 seats per week in both directions.
According to LATAM estimates, the route could carry approximately 43,000 passengers annually, becoming the sixth direct connection between Peru and Brazil. The airline already links Lima with São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, Curitiba, and Porto Alegre.
Data from the platform Cirium indicates that the proposed schedule will allow passengers to connect through LATAM’s Lima hub to other destinations in Colombia, Ecuador, and the United States.
Florianópolis Expands International Reach
With the addition of Lima, Florianópolis Airport will serve ten international destinations. Since the opening of its new terminal in September 2019, the airport has gradually expanded its international flight offerings.
Currently, FLN operates regular routes to Buenos Aires (Aeroparque and Ezeiza), Panama City, Lisbon, and Santiago de Chile. Seasonal routes include Asunción, Córdoba, Montevideo, and Rosario, while charter services—such as a recent connection to Mendoza—have also been recorded.
According to Cirium, ten airlines operate international flights at Florianópolis, with weekly flight volumes ranging from 120 to 290.
