Starting February 26, Lufthansa will implement a new catering concept for its Business Class passengers on short- and medium-haul flights. According to the airline, the initiative will expand the selection of hot and cold dishes, incorporating locally and European-inspired cuisine.
On flights of approximately two hours, passengers will have a broader choice of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. For routes longer than three hours, the number of hot meal options will increase from two to three.

Lufthansa will also introduce the "Pre-Select" service on these flights, allowing passengers to pre-select their meals from home at no extra cost. This feature, already available on SWISS and soon to be implemented by Austrian Airlines, will offer up to nine hot meal choices on flights over two hours. According to Lufthansa, this system will help optimize meal planning and reduce food waste.
"The introduction of 'Pre-Select' on Lufthansa's short- and medium-haul routes highlights our ongoing commitment to providing a consistent, high-quality travel experience for our customers," said Caroline Drischel, Senior Vice President of Customer Journey at Lufthansa Group.

Meanwhile, Heiko Reitz, Chief Customer Experience Officer at Lufthansa Airlines, emphasized the focus on regional ingredients and sustainability in developing the new menus. "We have placed great importance on sourcing locally and using carefully selected European products, offering passengers a new culinary experience," he noted.
The revamped menus were developed in collaboration with renowned chef Johann Lafer, Lufthansa's culinary team, and catering partner Gate Gourmet.
