Nella Airlines prepares to eliminate the Amaszonas brand and plans to incorporate Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
After having renewed the Air Operator Certificate (COA) in Bolivia, Amaszonas announced that it has new plans for its medium and long term operation, which includes changing the name of the U.S. company’s brand to Nella Airlines Bolivia.
«When it was acquired, the company was failing to comply with several regulatory standards, and it is not possible to renew a concession for a regular airline if it is not 100% compliant with the country’s legislation and regulations,» says Cristiane Secco, a lawyer at Albuquerque Melo Bank, partner in charge of the firm’s M&A area and aviation specialist, who supported the legal restructuring work. «We have coordinated the entire project, from Nella’s acquisition of Amaszonas until now,» Secco continued.
According to Secco, the restructuring took almost a year and involved negotiations of lease agreements, labor, tax and supplier debts, as well as adjustments related to safety standards. «Based on Bolivian legislation, the task force acted firmly, preventing the company from going bankrupt,» Secco concluded.

In the cargo sector, there will be expansion between Bolivia and the United States, with two Boeing 737-800 (BCF) aircraft joining the fleet.
