OWG plans to fly to Mexico, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic

With international travel restrictions on the way to easing in Canada, airlines are beginning to re-evaluate their plans for the winter season in the northern hemisphere, and in that regard, OWG / Nolinor´s President Marco Prud’Homme said that it is among the company’s plans to operate flights to the most popular tourist destinations in the Canadian market, covering cities in Jamaica, Mexico and the Dominican Republic, although at the moment it has not given specific details.

In statements made to the Canadian media PAX, Prud’Homme said «we have specific plans for each of the destinations. Little by little we will make the announcements when the time comes.»

«As indicated in the company’s launch, the vision is to renew the travel experience with happy passengers to more destinations, so it is not surprising that we add more popular routes,» added the manager.

This is known days after Transport Canada has granted Nolinor / OWG authorization to fly to those countries, as well as the United States.

OWG even operated Cuba flights in association with Caribe Sol / Hola Sol from Montreal and Toronto until the Canadian government tightened restrictions on international travel for tourism, and since then it has been conducting charter operations within the country.

Marco Prud’Homme also reported that the airline will add a third aircraft to its fleet, currently made up of two Boeing 737-400s with capacity for 158 passengers.

Nolinor had surprised the market in July last year by announcing the launch of a subsidiary for vacation operations to the Caribbean. The company is based at the Mirabel Airport in Montreal, and specializes in operating charter flights with cargo and passengers to destinations in the extreme north of Canada with a particular fleet made up of Boeing 737-200 and 737-300 aircraft, most of them in combi configuration.
