Partnership between Euroairlines and Azores Airlines strengthens the Portuguese carrier’s international distribution
Euroairlines and Azores Airlines have signed an interline agreement that will enable the Portuguese carrier to expand its distribution reach and access new international markets through the Spanish company's commercial and technological infrastructure.
Under the agreement, Azores Airlines will be able to use Euroairlines' IATA plate Q4-291, allowing it to issue tickets in over 60 countries via travel agencies, online travel platforms (OTAs), aggregators, and consolidators.
Azores Airlines, part of the SATA Group, is based in the Azores archipelago and currently serves destinations across Africa, Europe, and North America. According to the airline, its network includes cities such as Milan, Paris, New York, Boston, and Toronto, operated with Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, including ceo, neo, and LR variants.
“Azores Airlines has become a leading carrier in the North Atlantic region, and Euroairlines will provide additional distribution channels to further strengthen that position,” said Antonio López-Lázaro, CEO of the Euroairlines Group.
Amanda Machado, Euroairlines’ Client Director, added: “The airline is undergoing significant growth, and right now, North America and the Atlantic corridor are strategic areas for the Euroairlines Group.”

Sandro Raposo, Director of Operations at SATA Group, commented: “This enhanced partnership with Euroairlines will boost Azores Airlines’ distribution capabilities by giving us access to markets and customers that were previously out of reach.” He also noted: “We expect this increased awareness of our airline’s offerings—which include direct flights from major European cities to the Azores and seamless connections to North America—to drive continued passenger growth.”

Founded in Spain in 2000, Euroairlines is involved in both air transport and service distribution for other carriers, with a presence in Latin America, the United States, and several European capitals. The company states that its model relies on agreements with agencies and global distribution systems (GDS).
