Qatar Airways is close to completing the installation of Starlink high-speed internet across its fleet of Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, as the airline continues to expand in-flight connectivity for passengers on more routes.
The airline will also outfit its entire fleet of Airbus A350 aircraft with Starlink, becoming the first airline in the world to offer this advanced connectivity on that aircraft model. This expansion, following the rollout on the Boeing 777 fleet, will allow passengers to access high-speed Wi-Fi on even more aircraft.
“We are just a few aircraft away from completing the upgrade of our Boeing 777 fleet with Starlink connectivity. In April, we will become the first airline in the world to equip the Airbus A350 with Starlink,” said Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, Group Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways.
Currently, over 80% of Qatar Airways’ Boeing 777 fleet is equipped with Starlink internet, and more than 6,000 flights have already offered this Wi-Fi service. The Airbus A350, one of the most advanced aircraft in Qatar Airways’ fleet, is expected to deliver an enhanced passenger experience with the addition of Starlink.
