Qatar Airways will officially announce a new large order of wide-body aircraft, according to a report by Reuters, citing the airline’s Chief Commercial Officer, Thierry Antinori. Initially it was reported the announcement will be next month, but later it was clarified that it will be “soon”.
The executive stated that the CEO is working on an RFP (Request for Proposals) with aircraft manufacturers "to secure tomorrow’s growth" and ensure "the best fleet in the industry."
Due to the stage of the process, Antinori could not disclose whether the order will go to Airbus, Boeing, or be split between both manufacturers, Reuters reported.
