R$ 13 Million Boost: Alagoas Tourism Grows with New Flybondi Flights
Alagoas strengthens its position as an international tourism destination with the addition of four new flights from Córdoba, Argentina. The strategy, involving Flybondi and local partners, is expected to inject R$ 13 million into the local economy, with operations extended through Easter due to high demand
The flights achieved by the Government of Alagoas, through the State Secretariat of Tourism (Setur), have strengthened the state's international air network and consolidated the destination in South America. Last Monday (13), the State Secretary of Tourism, Bárbara Braga, announced on her social media the addition of four new operations from the city of Córdoba, as reported by our partner media outlet in Brazil, AEROIN.
This strategy aims to boost the economy with an increase of approximately R$ 13 million, injected by over two thousand foreign tourists expected to visit the destination.
Initially, 11 operations were scheduled from the Argentine city to Zumbi dos Palmares International Airport. However, due to high demand, this number increased to 15, with flights planned through the Easter period.
According to Bárbara Braga, investments by the Government of Alagoas, in collaboration with tourism operators and the airline Flybondi, have positioned Alagoas as a key international destination.
“The high demand for tickets allowed us to expand operations until Easter. Alagoas has solidified its position not only in South America but also internationally. By Easter, we will have 15 flights arriving at Zumbi dos Palmares International Airport, stimulating our economy, supporting bars and restaurants, and creating jobs and income for the population. These flights are expected to attract tourists from cities near Córdoba, such as Rosario, Santa Fe, and Tucumán,” said the official.
In November 2024, the Government of Alagoas participated in the ACAV Workshop (Cordoba Travel Agencies Association) to promote the new flight. According to Aena Brasil, between January and October 2024, Zumbi dos Palmares International Airport recorded the movement of 15,083 passengers from Argentina, on a weekly flight from Buenos Aires.
