According to a report by The Aviation Herald, an Airbus A321neo from Wizz Air, registered as 9H-WBI, operating flight W6-2068 from Milan Malpensa, Italy, to Kraków, received landing clearance and landed on runway 25 without apparent issues.

Upon reviewing the procedure, it was discovered that another aircraft was still occupying the runway at the time of landing. This constituted a "runway incursion," according to the Polish Air Accident Investigation Board (PKBWL), as reported by our partner outlet Aeroin.

The investigation revealed that a Jet2 Boeing 737-800, registered as G-JZBA, was simultaneously taking off for Manchester, England, operating flight LS-950. This resulted in the simultaneous occupation of the runway.

The serious concern was that the presence of both the Airbus and the Boeing on the runway could have resulted in a collision if an unforeseen event, such as the Boeing 737 aborting its takeoff, had occurred.
