Ryanair Announces Seven New Routes from London for 2025
The low-cost airline unveils 206 services in its summer flight schedule.
Ryanair has announced its summer 2025 flight schedule for London, featuring 206 routes, including seven new destinations from Stansted:
- Bodrum (Turkey)
- Clermont-Ferrand (France)
- Dalaman (Turkey)
- Münster (Germany)
- Lübeck (Germany)
- Linz (Austria)
- Reggio Calabria (Italy)
Additionally, more than 30 London routes will see increased frequencies, including flights to Gdansk, Ibiza, Málaga, Milan, Rome, Turin, and Valencia.
Fleet Expansion in London Stansted
To support this growth, Ryanair will base a new Boeing 737 at London Stansted for summer 2025, representing a $100 million investment. This brings the airline’s total fleet in London to 56 aircraft, with a combined investment of $5.6 billion. The expansion will also create 30 new jobs for pilots, cabin crew, and engineers.
Opposition to UK APD Tax Increase
Ryanair has criticized the UK government’s decision to increase Air Passenger Duty (APD) on short-haul flights, warning that it will negatively impact regional air connectivity.
The airline pointed out that Sweden, Spain, Portugal, and Italy have eliminated or reduced aviation taxes to stimulate growth, and called on UK authorities to repeal the APD hike.
Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary expressed frustration over the tax increase, stating:
"Ryanair could be growing even faster to and from the UK, but Rachel Reeves’ bizarre decision to increase APD by £2 per passenger damages UK growth prospects, particularly for regional airports. She is trying to distract the public by proposing a third runway at Heathrow (or a second at Gatwick), which—if approved—won’t be completed for another 10 to 20 years, long after this Labour government is gone."
