Ryanair Unveils Summer 2025 Schedule for Barcelona-El Prat with 69 Routes
Ryanair has announced its Summer 2025 schedule for Barcelona-El Prat Airport, featuring 69 routes, including a new service to Copenhagen with fares starting at €19.99.
For the summer season, the airline plans to base 14 aircraft in Barcelona, representing a $1.4 billion investment (based on aircraft value) and creating an impact on over 5,000 jobs.
Seat Reduction Across Spain
While Ryanair is expanding its operations at Barcelona-El Prat, the airline has reduced 800,000 seats on its Spanish flights for Summer 2025.
According to Ryanair, this decision is due to high airport fees and AENA's "incentive plans," which, the airline claims, have failed to support the Spanish government's policy of boosting regional airports—currently operating at only 64% capacity.
The airline argues that it has invested in Spain’s regional airports for years, offering affordable fares that promote tourism and employment. However, it criticizes AENA’s lack of initiatives to increase traffic at these airports, stating that higher fees and limited incentives could negatively impact connectivity, jobs, and tourism across the country.
